Two Adults Three Teens Arrested After Montgomery County Stolen Car Chase With Gun Seizure

On June 27, Montgomery County police pursued a stolen silver Hyundai Elantra near Old Columbia Pike and Tech Road in Silver Spring, leading to the arrest of five suspects: two adult males aged 18 and 19, two 16-year-olds, and a 13-year-old. After the vehicle struck a median and stopped, the suspects fled on foot but were quickly apprehended in nearby neighborhoods. Officers recovered three loaded handguns, including one stolen firearm and one 'ghost gun' with its serial number removed, found in the possession of the 16-year-olds. The 13-year-old was charged with vehicle theft and released to guardians, while the two 16-year-olds face adult charges including use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, vehicle theft, and other related offenses. The adults, Nyveek Ross and Kamonte Frazier, were charged with obstructing and hindering, disorderly conduct, and vehicle theft-related offenses, and released on unsecured bonds. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about juvenile involvement in serious crimes and the circulation of illegal firearms in the area.
