Netflix Adds 28 Years Later Sequel, Removes Iconic Horror Films
Netflix has recently added the highly rated horror film "28 Years Later," a sequel to the cult classic "28 Days Later," which explores a post-apocalyptic community obsessed with nostalgia and tradition, distinctively directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland. The film has been successful globally, earning $151 million on a $60 million budget, and is anticipated to be followed by "28 Years Later: The Bone Temple" directed by Nia DaCosta. However, Netflix is also removing several iconic horror titles ahead of Halloween, including the first three "Saw" films, "The Cabin In The Woods," "Sinister," and others, which has upset fans. Meanwhile, Peacock has added the 2024 horror hit "Abigail," a fresh vampire movie that reimagines the monster as a bloodthirsty 12-year-old girl, blending horror and comedy effectively. Additionally, Netflix viewers can now stream "Cobweb," a dark and unsettling movie about a boy uncovering disturbing family secrets, praised for its eerie atmosphere perfect for Halloween viewing. These changes reflect a dynamic horror streaming landscape with both exciting new content and the loss of beloved classics.
