Disney Treasure Rescues Four from Sinking Catamaran

The Disney Treasure cruise ship rescued four people from a sinking 50-foot catamaran named Serenity, located approximately 230 to 265 miles off the coast of Bermuda. The catamaran began taking on water due to a gasket failure in the escape hatch, prompting the U.S. Coast Guard to issue a call for assistance. The Disney Treasure, en route from the Netherlands to Port Canaveral, Florida, responded to the distress call and launched a lifeboat to successfully rescue the four passengers. The operation was coordinated with a Coast Guard air crew that flew over the scene to ensure the rescue's completion. All passengers were safely recovered with no medical issues reported, and the Disney Treasure is set to embark on its maiden voyage on December 21. Captain Marco Nogara praised the crew's training and commitment to safety during the rescue operation.
