Man Stabbed in Eye During Burglary in Derry

In a violent home invasion in the Canterbury Park area of Derry, a man was stabbed in the eye with a screwdriver around 4 am on Saturday. Two assailants forced their way into the victim's flat, leading to a brutal attack. The victim managed to escape and raise the alarm, and he has since been hospitalized with serious eye injuries. Authorities have arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and he remains in custody. Police are continuing their investigation and are appealing for any public information or CCTV footage related to the incident.
