Vietnam Deepens Regional Cooperation with India, Laos, China

Vietnam is actively strengthening its multifaceted international cooperation with various countries in 2025. The Vietnamese Ambassador to India met with West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to discuss enhancing collaboration in sectors like aquaculture, seafood processing, food technology, and port development, alongside promoting cultural and tourism exchanges. Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung's visit to Laos reinforced commitments to deepen political trust, economic ties, and strategic project completions, with both nations emphasizing the importance of bilateral cooperation and regional support. On the global stage, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chinese Premier Li Qiang agreed to boost trade, investment, and infrastructure connectivity, including a new rail link, during their meeting at the BRICS summit, despite recent U.S. tariffs targeting Vietnamese exports. Additionally, Vietnam acknowledges South Africa as a key partner in Africa, highlighting its importance as the upcoming G20 President. These developments reflect Vietnam's strategic efforts to expand economic, political, and cultural partnerships with key Asian and African countries.
