Clarksville Police Officer Arrested on Assault, Kidnapping Charges

Alan Greenman, a Clarksville police officer, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping related to a domestic violence incident. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) took over the investigation at the request of the 19th Judicial District Attorney General to ensure an independent and thorough review. Greenman was placed on administrative leave by the Clarksville Police Department, which initiated a separate internal investigation while cooperating fully with the TBI. The department emphasized that this behavior does not represent its values of professionalism and integrity, affirming that no one, including officers, is above the law and that due process will be followed. Greenman is presumed innocent until proven guilty, and the department reaffirmed its commitment to constitutional policing and accountability. The $75,000 bond was set upon Greenman's booking at Montgomery County Jail as the investigation continues.
