Keylor Navas Signs 18-Month Deal with Newell's

Former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas has joined Argentine club Newell's Old Boys on a free transfer. The 38-year-old Costa Rican, who recently retired from international soccer, is reportedly on an 18-month contract with the Rosario-based club, Lionel Messi’s boyhood club. Navas had been a free agent since leaving PSG at the end of the 2023-24 season and received offers from clubs in Chile, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil but opted for Newell's Old Boys. Known for his successful stint with Real Madrid, where he won three Champions League titles, Navas is expected to bolster Newell's defense as they aim to improve their standing in the Argentine Primera Division. Although he has not played since May 2024, Navas is eager to return to the pitch and take on this new challenge.
