Amazon MGM Acquires Paul McCartney Post-Beatles Documentary

Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the documentary 'Man on the Run,' directed by Academy Award winner Morgan Neville, which explores Paul McCartney's creative rebirth following the breakup of The Beatles. The film, premiering at the Telluride Film Festival, provides unprecedented access to unseen footage and rare archival materials, chronicling McCartney's solo career and the formation of Wings alongside his late wife, Linda. This acquisition is part of a comprehensive partnership among McCartney, Universal Music Group, and Amazon, which includes exclusive music and merchandise releases, as well as McCartney's book Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run, available November 4 on Amazon and Audible. 'Man on the Run' will be released in select theaters before streaming worldwide on Prime Video starting February 25, 2026. The documentary depicts McCartney's challenges and triumphs in defining a new musical era after The Beatles, highlighting his continued influence with the Got Back tour across North America this fall. Producers involved include Morgan Neville, Chloe Simmons, Meghan Walsh, Scott Rodger, Ben Chappell, Michele Anthony, David Blackman, with Paul McCartney also serving as an executive producer.
