Macon Man Arrested for Attempted Burglary

Elvis Lester Hill, a 57-year-old man, was arrested early Tuesday morning in Macon, Georgia, after attempting to break into a Family Dollar store with an axe. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, on patrol in the area, heard suspicious noises and discovered Hill trying to force open the rear doors of the store. Upon noticing the deputies, he fled into a nearby wooded area but was apprehended after a brief chase. Hill has been charged with second-degree criminal attempt to commit burglary, second-degree criminal damage to property, and obstruction of law enforcement. He is currently being held without bond, and the incident is still under investigation.
