Raducanu was visibly shaken by this individual's repeated unwanted attention, notably during the Dubai Championships in February, where she had to hide behind the umpire’s chair and later received a restraining order against him issued by local police. This stalker had been spotted at several other tournaments including Singapore, Abu Dhabi, and Doha, and had even confronted Raducanu in a coffee shop shortly before the Dubai incident. The All England Club has pledged to enhance security measures for Wimbledon in light of these events. Additionally, British player Katie Boulter has spoken out about experiencing significant online abuse and threats, highlighting broader concerns about player safety. These incidents have left Raducanu feeling wary when going out, underscoring the ongoing challenges athletes face from obsessive fans and harassment.
