Rex Schiesser Charged With Kidnapping Teen In Colorado

A Colorado man, 58-year-old Rex Schiesser, has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including kidnapping, after allegedly driving a 17-year-old boy around for hours following a car crash. The incident began when the boy was involved in a two-vehicle accident and Schiesser offered to help him with a flat tire, driving him to a tire store where he purchased a new tire. Instead of returning the boy to his grandparents, Schiesser drove him around Grand Junction, refusing his requests to be dropped off. Eventually, he returned the boy to the crash site, where the teen changed his tire before going home. Police connected Schiesser to the incident after receiving reports of a swerving vehicle and were able to arrest him after he initially evaded capture. He now faces charges including second-degree kidnapping, DUI, and reckless endangerment.
