Three laborers were critically injured when a crane collapsed at the SCB Medical College and Hospital construction site in Cuttack while lifting materials for a new building. The incident occurred during the expansion of the medical facility, where the crane fell from a height of approximately 100 feet, injuring workers on the ground. Eyewitnesses suggested that the crane's collapse might have been due to an overload. Following the accident, the construction project has been halted, and local authorities, including Cuttack Municipal Corporation's mayor, have promised to investigate and take action against those responsible. Additionally, there are concerns that more workers may be trapped under the debris, prompting rescue operations. The injured laborers have been admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
