Massachusetts Grand Juror Pleads Guilty to Leaking Karen Read Case Information

Jessica Leslie, a 34-year-old woman from Dracut who served as a grand juror in the investigation of Karen Read's case, has agreed to plead guilty to a federal charge of criminal contempt for leaking sealed grand jury information. Leslie disclosed confidential details including witness names and testimony from the grand jury proceedings related to the 2022 death of Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe, Read’s boyfriend. Read was acquitted in June 2025 of second-degree murder and other serious charges in connection with O’Keefe’s death. Leslie's leaks occurred between August 2022 and March 2024 and were discovered after federal authorities reportedly monitored social media and communications linked to the case. The plea agreement recommends a sentence of one day, deemed served, with no prison time, and two years of supervised release. A plea hearing has not yet been scheduled, and Leslie’s attorney has declined to comment on the matter.
