Arkansas High School Coach Charged with Rape, Sexual Assault of Minor

Caleb Hunter Gannon, a 27-year-old assistant football coach and teacher at Clarendon High School in Arkansas, has been formally charged with felony rape and engaging children in sexually explicit conduct for use in a visual or print medium following an investigation into sexual assault allegations involving a minor. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police, who arrested Gannon on August 10, 2025, during a traffic stop in West Memphis. Gannon made his first court appearance on August 11, where a judge set his bond at $3 million, and he is currently held at the Prairie County Detention Center. Gannon has been employed at the Clarendon School District since 2020. Authorities and support hotlines have been made available for reporting and assistance related to child abuse and sexual assault. Clarendon School District had not provided information regarding Gannon's employment status at the time of reporting.
