Demon Slayer Film Sets Box-Office Records; Streaming 2026
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle has become the highest-grossing Japanese film and anime feature ever, earning an estimated $555 million worldwide (with some outlets later reporting totals approaching $665 million). In North America it has grossed roughly $104 million, a record U.S. performance for an anime release. Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini and industry analysts credited Ufotable’s lavish production and coordinated Sony/Crunchyroll–Aniplex distribution for the film’s global success, and it is the first part of a planned three-part finale. International rollouts have posted record openings in new territories while a China release is still pending, so the total is expected to grow. Crunchyroll and industry estimates say the film will remain theatrical through 2025, with a home-streaming window now likely in late January to mid‑February 2026 as studios maximize box-office revenue.
