Ed Sheeran Releases 'Drive' for F1: The Album and Movie
Ed Sheeran has released "Drive," a racing-inspired rock track, as the lead single from the upcoming F1: The Album, which accompanies the highly anticipated F1: The Movie starring Brad Pitt. Produced by John Mayer and Blake Slatkin, the song features an impressive lineup of musicians including Mayer on guitar, Dave Grohl on drums, Pino Palladino on bass, and Rami Jaffee on keyboards. Sheeran described the creation of "Drive" as spontaneous and inspired by the film, noting the song "fell out of us" after previewing scenes from the movie. F1: The Album, which includes contributions from artists like Rosé, Burna Boy, and Tate McRae, will be released on June 27, coinciding with the film’s theatrical release. Sheeran, a self-confessed movie fan, expressed excitement about being part of the project and will also release his studio album "Play" in September. The soundtrack is overseen by Atlantic Records executives, continuing the label’s tradition of successful film companion albums.
