Queen Camilla Attends York Ebor Festival Amid Balmoral Break

Queen Camilla, patron of York Racecourse since June 2024, made a notable appearance at the Ebor Festival's Ladies Day, interrupting her annual Balmoral holiday with King Charles. During the event, she unveiled a plaque honoring the Juddmonte International race as the World's Best Race of 2024 and presented the trophy for the Yorkshire Oaks race. Despite her enthusiasm, three of her horses were defeated that day. Camilla also engaged with local charities supported by the racecourse and received a jar of honey from beekeepers Selina and Harry Silk, sharing her experiences with the challenges of beekeeping, including issues with wasps and swarming. Her longstanding passion for horse racing mirrors that of the late Queen Elizabeth II, with Camilla reportedly managing the late Queen's stables. The event also included the opening of the new Bustardthorpe End Development, enhancing facilities for racegoers.
