RuPaul Stars in Adam Shankman Action Comedy on High-Speed Train
RuPaul will star in the first-ever theatrical feature film from the RuPaul's Drag Race universe, an action-comedy directed by Adam Shankman and produced by World of Wonder. The untitled film follows train stewardesses Tess and DeeDee who leave their shifts on the Stank Rail to work on the glamorous Glamazonian Express, where they must team up with first-class passengers and President Judy Gagwell (RuPaul) to prevent a catastrophic derailment caused by a "Stormganza." Filming is scheduled to begin this autumn in Los Angeles, with a nationwide theatrical release planned for 2026 by Bleecker Street. RuPaul expressed enthusiasm for the role of President Gagwell, calling it a part he was "born to play," while Shankman highlighted his long friendship with RuPaul and the cultural impact of Drag Race. World of Wonder cofounders and Bleecker Street's CEO praised the project as a wildly entertaining and groundbreaking disaster movie set in the Drag Race universe. The screenplay is written by Connor Wright and Christina Friel, with executive production and financing from Unapologetic Projects.
