Mandla Mashimbyi Named Head Coach of South Africa Women's Cricket Team

Mandla Mashimbyi has been appointed as the new head coach of the South Africa women's cricket team, succeeding Hilton Moreeng after a decade-long tenure. His coaching role will begin on December 4 with a three-match ODI series against England, followed by a one-off Test in Bloemfontein. Mashimbyi brings over a decade of coaching experience, having previously led the Momentum Multiply Titans to multiple championships and served as a fast-bowling coach for the Proteas Men's Team. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing the Proteas Women's success on the global stage. Cricket South Africa's director of national teams, Enoch Nkwe, expressed confidence in Mashimbyi's capabilities and the fresh perspective he will bring to the team. Mashimbyi's appointment fills the leadership gap following Dillon du Preez's interim coaching after the T20 World Cup.
