Number Plates Auctioned to Aid Flood Victims

A historic license plate, known as number 8, has broken records by selling for AU$2.3 million at auction in South Australia, significantly surpassing the previous record of AU$593,000. This plate is notable for being the eighth-ever issued in the province, and the bidding for it generated considerable excitement. Meanwhile, in Malaysia, the JPJ has announced two new number plate series, 'ANS' and 'SD-X', for online bidding, reflecting the growing trend of personalized number plates. Belgium has also reported a rise in demand for personalized plates, with over 13,000 issued in 2023 alone. Additionally, the Sindh Excise Department in Pakistan is launching an online auction for premium number plates, aiming to raise funds for flood victims. This initiative includes a major fundraising event planned for October 12, 2024.
