Joan Shelley Plans New Album Real Warmth, North America Tour

Joan Shelley has announced her new album Real Warmth, set for release on September 19, marking her first full-length since 2022's The Spur. The album, engineered by Ben Whiteley and Jake Xerxes Fussell in Toronto, features 13 tracks and contributions from a community of musicians including members of The Weather Station. Shelley describes the album's title as reflecting themes of genuine human connection, spiritual warmth, and the urgency of caring for the planet and each other amid difficult times. The record was created with an emphasis on capturing a moment in time, blending folk intimacy with lyrical depth against a political backdrop. Alongside the album, Shelley has shared the new single "Everybody" and announced a North American tour covering venues in Toronto, Boston, Brooklyn, and Louisville this fall.
