New Bedford Man Killed in I-195 Crash

A 62-year-old New Bedford man, Anthony Moniz, was killed in a three-car crash involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 195 West in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m., and Moniz was pronounced dead at the scene after a 911 caller reported a driver was not breathing. Multiple state and local agencies, including the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, responded to the crash. The westbound lanes of I-195 were closed for about three hours and reopened at 2:35 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no information has been released about other individuals involved. State Police have extended condolences to Moniz's family.
