The Kansas City Chiefs will begin the 2024 NFL season without running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and wide receiver Hollywood Brown. Edwards-Helaire has been placed on the reserve/non-football illness list due to ongoing health issues related to PTSD, missing at least the first four games of the season. Meanwhile, Brown suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation in the preseason and is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks. Head coach Andy Reid confirmed that newly signed running back Samaje Perine will be ready for the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, while the team is also adapting to Brown's absence with other receivers stepping up. The Chiefs have bolstered their receiving corps this offseason with Brown and rookie Xavier Worthy, but must find effective replacements in the interim. Despite these setbacks, the Chiefs remain optimistic about their offensive strategies heading into the season opener.
