Fire Destroys 10 RVs Near Chandler, No Injuries

A large fire broke out around 6 p.m. Wednesday at an RV storage facility near Kyrene Road and Loop 202 in the Gila River Indian Community, close to Chandler, Arizona. The fire produced smoke visible for miles across the southeast Valley, including Tempe and Phoenix. About 10 RVs were destroyed, but no injuries were reported. Firefighters responded with a first-alarm call and contained the blaze within 30 minutes. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire. Unrelated RV-related fires were also reported this week in Lubbock, Texas; Moore County, North Carolina; and North Pacific County, Washington.
