Porsche Reports Global Sales Decline in 2024

Porsche has reported a 3% decline in global deliveries for 2024, totaling approximately 310,700 vehicles, primarily due to a significant 28% drop in sales in China, where deliveries fell to 56,887 units. This marks the third consecutive year of declining sales in the Chinese market, which had been Porsche's largest since 2015. While sales in other regions, such as Germany and North America, saw increases of 11% and 1% respectively, the overall performance reflects challenges stemming from the economic climate in China. In response, Porsche plans to reduce its dealer outlets in China from 144 to about 100 by 2027 and has hinted at potential layoffs. Despite these setbacks, the company's sales director expressed confidence in Porsche's product range and acknowledged the need to navigate complex economic conditions in 2025.
