Steve Jones Discusses Rift with John Lydon

Steve Jones, guitarist of the Sex Pistols, revealed that he has not spoken to former bandmate Johnny Rotten (John Lydon) since their last tour in 2008, describing their relationship as strained. During an interview on the Rockonteurs podcast, Jones expressed exhaustion from their interactions, stating, "I was done after that, no more. Too much. Too old, too much, not enough done." Their estrangement has been exacerbated by legal disputes, including a failed lawsuit by Lydon against his bandmates regarding the use of their music in the 2022 biopic series 'Pistol'. Currently, Jones, along with drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock, is touring with Frank Carter as the new vocalist, which Jones describes as a "different vibe" that has been well-received by fans. The last performance with Lydon occurred on September 5, 2008, and since then, the band has embraced a new direction with Carter, who brings a fresh energy to their shows.
