An 18-year-old woman, Destiny Garcia-Gonzalez of Los Banos, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 580 in Hayward on Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 9:30 AM when her Nissan Frontier veered off the road, crashed through a fence, and rolled down a 60-foot embankment. Despite wearing a seatbelt, Garcia-Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators from the California Highway Patrol suspect fatigue may have contributed to the crash, as initial evidence suggests she might have dozed off while driving. They are currently exploring whether a medical emergency played a role in the accident. The CHP is seeking information from anyone who witnessed the crash.
