Daniel Lopez Convicted of Murder in Hartford

Daniel Lopez, aged 33, was found guilty of murder and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition by a Hartford Superior Court jury on November 22. This conviction is linked to the fatal shooting of Heriberto Garcia, 31, on April 14, 2021, in Hartford. According to evidence, Lopez shot Garcia from the backseat while holding him in a headlock, as confirmed by a witness who reported the incident to the police. After the shooting, Lopez threatened the witness and fled the scene. Garcia was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Lopez's sentencing is scheduled for January 31, 2025.
