Local journalist Richard Mineards claimed Meghan cultivates a very controlled image, paying close attention to her appearance and interactions, and recounted an incident where an elderly neighbor was unable to deliver a local documentary to her. In contrast, Prince Harry is viewed as warm, approachable, and more engaged with the community, often seen at local spots and displaying a good-natured demeanor despite personal struggles. Mineards suggested that Montecito residents appreciate simplicity and openness, traits they find more in Harry than in Meghan. While Oprah Winfrey, a fellow Montecito resident and Meghan's friend, participates in community charity events, Meghan has not similarly engaged. A spokesperson for the Sussexes declined to comment on these claims.
