Sky Sports Launches Multiview for Four Premier League Games on Sundays
Sky Sports is launching a new 'Multiview' feature this Premier League season that allows viewers to watch up to four games simultaneously on Sunday afternoons, with one main match featured prominently and three smaller screens alongside it. This innovation is part of a broader expansion where Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League matches, a significant increase from last season's 128, including all 2pm Sunday kick-offs that have been rescheduled due to European fixtures. The format aims to enhance viewer choice and replicate a 'whip-around' style similar to the NFL's RedZone, with dedicated commentary and editorial control to focus on the most exciting action across multiple matches. Sky plans to eventually enable viewers to customize which games appear on their screen, further personalizing the experience. Alongside this, Sky Sports is introducing new programming such as the Sunday night review show 'Super Sunday: Extra Time' with Jamie Carragher and reviving classic shows like 'Sunday Supplement.' This initiative reflects Sky's strategy to innovate broadcast offerings and combat piracy amid changing media consumption habits.
