Edinburgh, Kosovo Book Festivals Announce 2025 Programs

The 2025 Edinburgh International Book Festival, held at the Edinburgh Futures Institute, centers on the theme of 'Repair,' exploring how to fix various broken aspects in society from politics to the environment. The festival features a diverse lineup including authors Maggie O'Farrell, Irvine Welsh, Alice Oseman, former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, and others, with over 100 events livestreamed to libraries across Scotland as part of its Communities Programme. New additions include a dedicated Young Adults program targeting audiences 30 and under, and a Kids Zone providing a family-friendly safe hub, alongside the popular Table Talk food events and a wide variety of poetry, spoken word, and music performances in the Spiegeltent. Improvements to the festival site include a new entrance on Middle Meadow Walk and an external box office to increase accessibility. The event aims to foster resilience, hope, and open dialogue amid societal challenges, offering attendees opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations on repair and renewal. Meanwhile, Kosovo is preparing to host its 25th Book Fair in Pristina in June 2025, featuring around 100 publishers and 2,000 new titles, celebrating significant literary anniversaries and expecting about 30,000 visitors.
