Thai Singer Ping Chayada Dies After Massage

Thai folk singer Ping Chayada, aged 20, tragically died from septicemia and brain swelling following a series of neck-twisting massages at a parlour in Udon Thani. Starting in early October, Chayada sought massage therapy for neck and shoulder pain but experienced worsening symptoms, including numbness and paralysis, after repeated visits. Despite her background in Thai massage, she did not initially suspect the massages were causing severe harm, leading to her hospitalization and eventual death on December 8. An investigation found that not all masseuses at the parlour were licensed, prompting scrutiny of the establishment's practices. Chayada had shared her painful experience on social media, warning others and expressing hope for recovery.
