The Andhra Pradesh government suspended three senior IPS officers, PSR Anjaneyulu, Kanthi Rana Tata, and Vishal Gunni, for their involvement in the wrongful arrest and harassment of Mumbai-based actor Kadambari Jethwani. The officers, acting on the orders of YSR Congress leader KVR Vidyasagar, arrested Jethwani and her family without proper evidence or written orders, leading to their 40-day detention. The suspensions were based on an inquiry report revealing procedural lapses and misuse of power. Jethwani alleged that the police tried to coerce her into withdrawing a previous sexual assault complaint filed in Mumbai. Additional officers, Hanumanth Rao and Satyanarayana, were also suspended earlier in the case. The case has raised serious concerns about police misconduct and abuse of authority in Andhra Pradesh.
