AMD, Saudi Arabia Announce $10 Billion AI Infrastructure Partnership

Saudi Arabia is making a significant $10 billion investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure through its new company Humain, in partnership with US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). This collaboration aims to build a global AI computing platform with data centers stretching from Saudi Arabia to the United States, supported by sustainable energy systems and global fiber-optic connections. AMD will provide AI-accelerated chips and software, including GPUs, CPUs, and AI processors, to power the expansive AI infrastructure targeting multi-exaflop capacity by 2026. The initiative aligns with broader US-Saudi cooperation on technology and defense, highlighted during President Donald Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia, which included agreements on AI, weapons deals, and investment pledges. AMD CEO Lisa Su emphasized the project's role in advancing global AI infrastructure, while Humain's CEO Tareq Amin highlighted the goal of democratizing AI access. This partnership reflects AMD's strategic efforts to expand in the Middle East amid competitive pressures and US export regulations.
