Judge Grants Restraining Orders for Crawford, Gerber

A Los Angeles judge has granted temporary restraining orders to supermodel Cindy Crawford and her daughter Kaia Gerber against 35-year-old Daniel Lee Schoonover, whom court filings identify as an alleged stalker. The filings allege Schoonover followed the family for months, appeared outside their Los Angeles home — including reportedly sleeping by the pedestrian gate and ringing the doorbell — and traveled to Massachusetts after Gerber’s July 29 theater performance where he allegedly asked her to join a séance. Gerber says Schoonover then posted hundreds of “threatening, sexually graphic and extremely concerning” Instagram comments and allegedly threatened to kill Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, prompting emergency protective measures and civil petitions. The TROs were granted pending a court hearing that is scheduled for Nov. 7, and a judge ordered Schoonover to stay away from the family. Attorneys for the parties have not publicly commented, and the filings reference a separate 2022 stalking scare involving Crawford, underscoring ongoing safety concerns for the family.
