Oak Park Man Charged with Felony Manslaughter in Newbury Park Fatal Crash
Neil Liam Reb, a 21-year-old man from Oak Park, was charged with two counts of felony gross vehicular manslaughter and a special allegation of a serious felony following a fatal crash in Newbury Park that killed Alejandro and Maria Ramirez. Investigators determined Reb was driving recklessly at nearly twice the 45 mph speed limit when his 2024 Jeep Wrangler collided with the Ramirezes' Volkswagen Tiguan at an intersection, resulting in their deaths. Reb was arrested on June 30, posted $50,000 bail, and is scheduled for arraignment on July 14 in Ventura County Superior Court. Separate from this case, Ibrahim Mohamed faces second-degree attempted murder and assault charges following a shooting in Apple Valley, Minnesota, where he allegedly shot a man in the face after an argument at a park. In Kansas City, De’Onte Thompson was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action after fatally shooting Terrance M. Bell on June 21. Additionally, Fred Andrew Simily was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action in Park Hills after an incident involving a gunshot injury and bizarre behavior, including claims of drugging and shooting his dog to attract law enforcement.
