One Teen Killed, Two Arrested in Fort Wayne Shooting

A shooting in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana, shortly after midnight on July 5 left one 16-year-old dead and three other teenagers, aged 15 to 18, injured. Police responded to Harrison and Pearl Streets, providing aid to three victims at the scene, while a fourth victim later arrived at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two suspects, a 16-year-old male and 18-year-old Ni'Shawn Jackson, were arrested and face charges including murder, attempted murder, and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon; the juvenile also faces a firearm possession charge. Authorities executed a search warrant at a Woodhaven Drive residence, where multiple firearms were recovered as part of the ongoing investigation. The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit, Allen County Prosecutor's Office, and Allen County Coroner’s Office are involved in the case.
