Funeral for Trooper McAcy Set Thursday in Ralston

A funeral service for Nebraska State Patrol Trooper Kyle McAcy, who died responding to a crash on Interstate 80 during a snowstorm, will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston. The public is invited to attend both the service and the preceding procession, which will begin at 9 a.m. from Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home in Omaha. The procession route will be closed to traffic starting at 8:30 a.m., and people are encouraged to line the route but not park along it. Trooper McAcy's cruiser will be displayed as a memorial outside the arena, where attendees can leave flowers or gifts for his family. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. McAcy is remembered for his dedication and kindness, having served as a trooper for a decade and volunteered at Children's Nebraska.
