Weinstein Undergoes Emergency Heart Surgery

Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced former Hollywood producer, underwent emergency heart surgery on Monday at Bellevue Hospital in New York after experiencing severe chest pains over the weekend. Weinstein's representatives confirmed that the 72-year-old had a procedure to remove fluid from his heart and lungs and is currently recovering but remains weak and in pain. This emergency follows a series of health issues, including COVID-19, pneumonia, diabetes, and high blood pressure, which have led to multiple hospitalizations. Weinstein's 2020 rape and sexual assault conviction was overturned in April, and he is awaiting a retrial scheduled for November. Meanwhile, prosecutors are considering new sexual assault charges against him.
