Uzbekistan Airways is set to launch direct flights from Tashkent to Goa on October 27, 2024, operating twice a week via the Airbus A320 Neo. This new route aims to enhance tourism and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and India, particularly benefiting the scenic state of Goa. The initiative is a result of collaborative efforts from the Goa Tourism Department, the Indian Embassy in Tashkent, and the Uzbekistan Embassy, with plans to promote the connection at the upcoming Tashkent International Tourism Fair. Goa's Minister for Tourism, Rohan A. Khaunte, described the launch as a significant milestone in connecting Goa with Central Asia, facilitating both tourism and trade. The new flights are expected to boost visitor numbers and establish Goa as a year-round destination, enhancing its appeal on the global tourism map. Additionally, the growth of Mopa International Airport is anticipated as it solidifies its status as an emerging aviation hub in India.
