South Florida Faces Severe Flooding Amid Hurricane Gabrielle Threat
South Florida is experiencing high humidity with widespread strong afternoon storms expected, making today an impact day for the area. The tropical activity includes Hurricane Gabrielle east of Bermuda and two other tropical systems, though none are forecast to hit the U.S. presently. Central Florida will have a mostly dry and warm Sunday with low rain chances, but life-threatening rip currents persist along the coast. Rain chances increase early next week with heat indices climbing above 100 degrees by midweek. New Mexico will be mostly dry Sunday with isolated storms earlier today, followed by increasing moisture and scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms starting Monday, bringing temperatures back to average or cooler.
