The first encounter happened the day before Thanksgiving, when Kim arrived unannounced, bypassed John, and instead focused on the newborn, humorously insisting on a family tradition of placing a turkey drumstick in a baby's hand for their first Thanksgiving. Olivia was initially confused by this so-called tradition and confirmed with her siblings that it was fabricated by her mother for entertainment. Despite the surprise, John was agreeable to the gesture, and Kim took a photo of Malcolm holding the drumstick, declaring it a 'new tradition.'
