Moroccan Surfer Ramzi Boukhiam Injured at Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach

Moroccan surfer Ramzi Boukhiam suffered a serious knee injury at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach event while walking across rocks after his heat, when a wave knocked him, causing his knee to twist awkwardly. Fellow competitors, including World No. 1 Italo Ferreira and Xavier Huxtable, immediately assisted him from the water. Boukhiam was unable to stand, appeared in significant pain, and was transported off the beach on crutches for medical scans, with early indications pointing to a severe injury.
