Hereward Homes Ltd resubmits plans for 24 homes in Glinton

Hereward Homes Ltd has submitted fresh plans for 24 new homes in Glinton after an initial application was rejected by Peterborough City Council due to concerns about suburban encroachment and erosion of the village's character. The council found that the proposed development would disrupt the established form of the village and appear incongruous within the street scene. In response to the refusal, the developer argues that the council's inability to deliver a five-year housing supply necessitates a reevaluation of housing policies, asserting that Glinton is a suitable location for new homes. The new application claims to demonstrate high-quality design and addresses previous concerns regarding parking. Additionally, other housing proposals in Glinton, including a larger plan for 95 homes, have also faced rejection, while a separate plan for 250 homes is still under consideration. City council planners are expected to decide on the latest application soon.
