Emma Mackey Cast as White Witch in Gerwig's Narnia Adaptation

Emma Mackey, known for her role in 'Sex Education,' has been cast as the White Witch in Greta Gerwig's upcoming Netflix adaptation of C.S. Lewis's 'The Chronicles of Narnia.' The film, titled 'The Magician's Nephew,' will focus on the origin story of Narnia and is set for a global theatrical release in November 2026 before streaming on Netflix. Meryl Streep is reportedly voicing Aslan, the iconic lion, while Daniel Craig is rumored to be in talks for the role of Uncle Andrew. Gerwig, acclaimed for her work on 'Barbie,' 'Lady Bird,' and 'Little Women,' aims to bring a fresh perspective to the fantasy franchise. Casting rumors previously included Charli XCX and Margaret Qualley for the role of the White Witch, but Mackey ultimately secured the part. Netflix acquired the rights to adapt the entire seven-book Narnia series in 2018, marking its most ambitious fantasy project to date.
