This follows a long history of exploration dating back to co-founder Steve Jobs, who claimed to have 'finally cracked it' before his death in 2011. Despite developing full-scale prototypes resembling large touchscreen Macs or iPads, Apple previously abandoned the project due to high costs and low consumer interest in premium televisions. In 2019, Apple shifted focus to enhancing its app and streaming services for third-party TVs instead of pursuing its own television. However, the renewed push for smart home devices, including a wall-mounted tablet, suggests that Apple may be reconsidering its television ambitions once more, though market dynamics could again pose challenges.
