Lost Bram Stoker Story to be Published
A long-lost short story titled 'Gibbet Hill' by Bram Stoker, best known for his novel 'Dracula', has been rediscovered by amateur historian Brian Cleary while researching at the National Library of Ireland. The story, published in 1890 in a Christmas supplement of the Dublin Daily Express, had remained undocumented for over 130 years. Cleary's discovery came during a personal period of recovery from sudden hearing loss, leading him to spend time in library archives. 'Gibbet Hill', set in Surrey and sharing gothic elements with 'Dracula', showcases Stoker's early style and themes. The story will be presented at the Bram Stoker Festival in Dublin and published as a limited edition. Cleary's find has been hailed as a significant literary discovery by library officials and Stoker biographers alike.
