Conrad Named Proteas Coach Through 2027 World Cup

Shukri Conrad has been appointed as South Africa's all-format men's cricket coach, overseeing the Test, ODI, and T20I teams until the 2027 Cricket World Cup, which will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Conrad, who has led the Test team since January 2023 and guided them to the World Test Championship final against Australia, succeeds Rob Walter, who resigned as white-ball coach for personal reasons. His appointment is part of Cricket South Africa's restructuring, which also revives the National Convenor of Selection role. CSA praised Conrad’s leadership and familiarity with the team, expressing confidence in his ability to elevate the white-ball squads. Conrad expressed enthusiasm for building on South Africa's white-ball talent and achieving success across formats. His first assignment as all-format coach will be the T20 tri-series in Zimbabwe in July, followed by tours to Australia, England, and India.
