Denver Summit FC, Boston Legacy Join NWSL in 2026

Denver Summit FC has been officially named as Denver's National Women's Soccer League expansion team, following a fan-driven naming process with over 15,000 participants. The team's branding, unveiled on a Tuesday, features a mountain-themed crest and green, white, and sandstone red colors inspired by Colorado's landscape and license plates. Collaboration with the local ultimate frisbee team, Colorado Summit, resulted in their agreement to rebrand to avoid confusion. Denver Summit FC will start play in the 2026 season, initially at a temporary venue in Centennial, and plans to move to a new 14,500-seat stadium in 2028. The ownership group, led by Rob Cohen, emphasizes strong community engagement and is planning further fan events, including a launch party at McGregor Square. The club will debut alongside Boston Legacy, bringing the NWSL to 16 teams in 2026.
