Washington D.C. Opens First Go-Go Museum

Washington, D.C. has celebrated the grand opening of the Go-Go Museum and Café, a vibrant tribute to the city's official music genre, on November 18, 2024. This landmark project, spearheaded by CreativeJunkFood and community advocate Ronald Moten, aims to preserve and promote go-go culture through interactive exhibits, workshops, and a café. The opening event featured local artists and highlighted the importance of go-go music in the city’s cultural heritage, emphasized by Mayor Muriel Bowser's presence. Moreover, the establishment will also serve as a community hub, particularly for at-risk youth, providing resources and training in sound engineering and other arts. The project coincides with Go-Go Preservation Week, reinforcing the city's commitment to honor and celebrate its musical legacy. CreativeJunkFood is also launching the Marion Barry Legacy Public Arts Project, further enhancing D.C.'s cultural landscape.
